Hey Y’all! Welcome to this month’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! The August theme is Fall Frenzy, and while we may still be hanging onto the last days of summer, my craft table is already headed straight into fall—and apparently, it made a quick stop at Halloween!

For my projects this week, I created three sets of fun treat packages featuring the Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! With Frankenstein, a vampire, a skeleton, and a jack-o’-lantern making an appearance, this paper is just too cute to save for October.

For today’s projects, I wanted to create treat packaging while keeping those fun faces front and center. I ended up with three completely different ideas: vellum treat bags, classic sour cream containers, and mini milk carton treat boxes. So, grab the candy—we’re about to have a little Fall Frenzy fun!

Vellum Treat Bags with Spooktacular Toppers

First up are probably the easiest packages of the bunch—and sometimes simple really is best!

For each vellum bag, I used two sheets of Spooktacular DSP, trimming 1″ from each side to create two 4″ x 6″ pieces. One piece slips right inside the vellum bag, giving the treats a colorful backdrop and putting one of those fun Spooktacular faces front and center.

For the second piece, I trimmed the 4″ x 6″ panel down to 4″ x 4″, keeping the face centered, and scored it at ¾” from the top to create the fold-over flap. I scalloped the bottom edge before folding it over the top of the bag, which adds a fun little detail while still allowing the candy to peek through the vellum.

I positioned the two pieces facing opposite directions, so no matter which way you turn the bag, there’s a Spooktacular character looking back at you! A couple of staples hold the topper and vellum bag together, and that’s it.

These are quick, cute, and easy to make in multiples—perfect for classroom treats, coworkers, neighbors, party favors, or all those special little ghosts and goblins who deserve a little something extra on Halloween.

Spooktacular Sour Cream Pouches

Next, I pulled out an old favorite—the sour cream pouches.

I love projects like this because they prove that you don’t need a complicated pattern or fancy box die to create adorable treat packaging. A flat piece of DSP, a little adhesive, and a few simple folds are all it takes to create this fun dimensional shape. And the Spooktacular DSP couldn’t be better suited for it! The tall design keeps those funny faces front and center.

Fill them with a few small candies or another Halloween surprise, and you’ve got a treat that’s almost too cute to open. Almost.

Spooktacular Mini Milk Carton Treat Boxes

For my third project, I stepped things up just a bit and created these adorable mini milk carton treat boxes.

I think this may be my favorite way to show off the whole Spooktacular gang. Frankenstein, the pumpkin, skeleton, and vampire each get their own carton, and they’re even more fun when you see all four lined up together.

I finished each carton with black-and-white gingham ribbon and a little “BOO to you!” tag. Those few extra details are all these little boxes need—the Spooktacular DSP is definitely still the star of the show.

These would be so cute grouped together in a Halloween basket, used as party favors, placed at each setting for a Halloween gathering, or filled with something special for your favorite trick-or-treaters.

And Of Course… A Few Spooktacular Cards!

But of course, I couldn’t play with the Spooktacular DSP without making a few super-cute cards to match! I used all four of our Halloween characters—Frankenstein, the skeleton, vampire, and jack-o’-lantern—and paired each one with the coordinating striped patterns from the reverse side of the paper.

A few simple layers, a Happy Halloween sentiment, and just a little extra detail were all they needed. The characters really do all the work! I love how the four cards coordinate while each one still has its own personality. They would be so much fun to tuck in with one of the treat packages or send a little spooky happy mail to someone special this Halloween.
