Father’s Day is just around the corner – June 16th
Do you find it challenging to create masculine cards? I often gravitate towards frilly or flowery designs. That’s why I was thrilled when the 2024-25 annual catalog introduced the Take to the Sky suite. The designs in this suite are a perfect fit for the men in your life, and I was truly inspired to create these cards.
For the cards below I stamped the plane and cloud images on white card stock and colored with alcohol markers and colored pencils for various effects. Then I used the dies to cut out the shapes and added sentiments for birthdays or Father’s Day. I love the punny “You’re the Best Plane and Simple” tag!

The dies set includes pieces that easily combine to create a perfect little model plane. Additionally, it includes a piece for attaching a banner, providing a personalized touch to complement your recipient. Any plane enthusiast would be delighted to receive this special and thoughtful gift in their mailbox.

The Take to the Sky Designer Series paper pairs well with the Adventurous Sky bundle, but also includes images that are incredible on their own. Use these images to create quick and easy stunning projects.

TIP: Use clear heat embossing on elements in the image to add a distinctive touch to an otherwise simple design. Applying clear heat embossing powder over the airplanes created a raised, glossy effect that adds depth and visual interest to an otherwise simple card. This technique adds a professional look, making it stand out. Experiment with different colors and textures to further personalize your design and create stunning, one-of-a-kind cards that are sure to impress.
