TIP: Layering die-cut shapes is a fantastic way to add texture and elegance to your design. By repeating the shapes, you create a visually cohesive and sophisticated background that draws the eye. Adding a pop of color elevates the design, introducing a bold contrast that creates drama and makes the overall project truly stand out.

TIP: Incorporating non-traditional colors into your projects is a creative way to achieve a truly unique design. Stepping away from the expected palette—like red and pink for Valentine’s Day—can give your work a fresh and modern feel. For example, pairing blues, teals, or metallics creates an unexpected combination that catches the eye. Additionally, using unique color schemes lets you tailor your designs to specific recipients, making them even more personal and memorable.

The above card has a unique twist—the hearts themselves create the fold! When you open it, the overlapping hearts reveal the sweet sentiment: “My Heart Belongs to You.”

I used the Hearts of Elegance dies and went to town with some classic Valentine’s Day-colored cardstock—cutting hearts, hearts, and more hearts. If there was ever a time for a heart explosion, it’s Valentine’s Day! I arranged the hearts into a charming wreath that perfectly frames the photo. With all this love bursting off the page, there’s no mistaking this scrapbook layout for anything less than heart-stoppingly “lovely.”
