There’s nothing better than enjoying a Sunday afternoon spent with friends—except maybe adding some stamping and papercrafting to the mix. (And yes, cupcakes. Always cupcakes.)
My Card Makers Class: Birthday Bash Edition was one of those heartwarming, laughter-filled afternoons that remind me exactly why I love what I do. The theme was Birthday Celebration—because my own birthday is just around the corner, and what better excuse to throw a paper party? We had frosting, we had friends, and we had some good old-fashioned gluey-finger fun.
Armed with two fantastic kits—Birthday Bash and Light the Candles—we dove into a sea of glitter paper, twine, stamps, and plenty of giggles. Some attendees were experienced stampers, others had never touched a stamp before, but everyone left with adorable birthday cards, festive gift bags, and the kind of gift card holders that make you look wildly organized… even if you’re frantically crafting five minutes before the party.
The Birthday Bash Kit was a total crowd-pleaser. Bright, happy packaging? Check. Charming tags? Check. The illusion that you’ve got it all together? Double check. (You can still grab this one in my Online Store—trust me, it’s a lifesaver for last-minute gift-wrapping emergencies.)
The Light the Candles Kit brought out everyone’s inner party planner. With its no-prep-needed pieces and cheerful candle-and-cake designs, it was perfect for whipping up cards or invitations. One of my favorite parts of the afternoon was watching two young ladies in our group light up after stamping their very first projects. That look of “Wait—I made this?!” never gets old. Whether you’re 9 or 99, stamping has a way of bringing out the joy.
Hosting this class reminded me of my very first stamping experience. A friend invited me, I had no idea what I was doing, and I mostly showed up for the adult conversation. But what I found that day was a creative spark, a brand-new hobby, and a whole community of joyful crafters. It’s that same feeling I try to recreate every time I open my craft room doors.
If the Card Makers Class: Birthday Bash Edition is any indication, there really is something special about slowing down, getting a little inky, and connecting over creativity.
