This month’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop theme is “Halloween Fun,” and I have some spooky fun Halloween projects to share with you. I think Halloween might just be my favorite holiday outside of Christmas. There’s something magical about the way kids light up when they get to decide who or what they want to be for the night. Whether it’s a superhero, a spooky ghost, or their favorite character, the excitement is contagious—and of course, there’s always the candy!
But here’s a thought: why don’t we send more Halloween cards? We send them for birthdays, Valentine’s, Christmas, and just about everything in between—so why not Halloween? I think it’s always a good time to spread cheer, and in October that cheer just happens to be spooky cheer! Imagine opening your mailbox and finding a handmade card with a “Happy Halloween” banner. It’s such a simple way to brighten someone’s day and remind them that Halloween isn’t just about costumes and candy.
The Fright Night Bundle from Stampin’ Up! is perfect for bringing that spooky cheer to life. The Fright Night stamp set includes a bold full-panel image that says it all with “Fright Night, Boo, October 31, Spooky, Eek,” surrounded by bats, cats, and stars. It also comes with classic Halloween greetings like “Trick or Treat” and “Happy Halloween,” along with accents you can layer into your projects. The coordinating Fright Night dies cut the large labels, banners, words “EEK” and “BOO,” and the ornate spiderwebs that add fun detail.
Halloween might not have the same card-sending tradition as Christmas, but maybe it’s time to change that. With the Fright Night Bundle you can start your own tradition of sending a little extra magic this October—whether it’s tucked into a trick-or-treat bag, slipped onto a neighbor’s porch, or sent across the miles to someone who could use a smile. Because let’s be real: it’s never a bad time to spread cheer…especially spooky cheer!
Last month on the blog, I spotlighted the Spooky Sweet Suite Collection in my post “Treats, No Tricks—Make Halloween Spooky-Sweet.” The projects paired perfectly with sentiments from the Fright Night stamp set, showing just how easily the two collections work together. Go take a peek!
Fright Night Spooky Greeting Cards

Tutorial: For this bright and bold Halloween card, I started with a Berry Burst cardstock base and added a panel of coordinating Berry Burst that I embossed with the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder for texture. The large label image from the Fright Night stamp set is stamped in black onto Lemon Lime cardstock, then die-cut with the coordinating Fright Night dies. I layered it over a black die-cut for a shadowed effect. To add spooky detail, I tucked black spiderweb die-cuts behind. A sprinkling of Shimmer Star Foam stickers finishes the look with just the right amount of sparkle! Inspiration: Dani Dziama

Tutorial: For this fun and festive card, I started with a white card base and added a piece of Spooky Sweet specialty designer series paper filled with colorful candies, stars, and bats. The striped label image from the Fright Night stamp set was stamped in black on white cardstock, then cut with the coordinating Fright Night die and layered over a white die-cut frame. I added a layer of gray patterned DSP under the “Trick or Treat” sentiment stamped in black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cut with the banner die. The adorable trick-or-treating crow is one of the punch outs from the specialty DSP. To finish, I fussy cut a few pieces of candy from the DSP and added to the bottom of the label and sprinkled on some Shimmer Star Foam stickers.

Tutorial: For this classic Halloween design, I began with a white card base and added a piece of Spooky Sweet specialty designer series paper that has a rustic, weathered look. Down the center, I added a strip of black patterned DSP. The striped label image from the Fright Night stamp set was stamped in Timid Tiger on white cardstock, then die-cut with the coordinating dies and layered onto a white frame. I added the crow and pumpkins, a punch out from the DSP, to the center of the label. The “Happy Halloween” sentiment was stamped in black on white cardstock and die-cut with the banner die, then placed across the pumpkins to tie everything together. A few black matte embellishments scattered around the background finish the card with just the right amount of texture and dimension.

Tutorial: For this creepy-cute Halloween card, I started with a piece of black and orange patterned paper from the Spooky Sweet specialty designer series paper and layered it with a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock to create a bold, eye-catching frame. The focal point is built with the large label from the Fright Night dies, cut from black layered under a piece of grey cardstock cut with the smaller label die, and topped with black spiderwebs also cut with the Fright Night dies. To give it even more spooky flair, I added several die-cut spiders creeping across the web and background. The word “EEK” was cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered across the bottom. A few In Color Flat Pearls scattered across the card finish the look with extra shine.

Tutorial: For this card, I stepped away from Halloween and showed how the Fright Night Bundle can be used year-round. I began with a white card base layered with striped DSP in soft gray tones, framed with Secret Sea cardstock. The striped label image from the Fright Night Stamp Set was stamped in Secret Sea on white cardstock, then cut with the coordinating die and layered onto a white label for a crisp, clean frame. To soften the bold background, I added die-cut florals from the Impressions Abloom dies in Cloud Cover, Secret Sea, and Strawberry Slush, tucking in a few Old Olive leaves for a fresh pop of green. The sentiment “I appreciate you” from the Impressions Abloom stamp set was stamped in Secret Sea and fussy cut and layered across the florals for a heartfelt finishing touch. A few In Color Flat Pearls scattered across the card add just the right amount of shine.

Tutorial: For this striking Halloween card, I started with a black card base and added subtle background interest by stamping scattered stars in tone-on-tone black. The large label image from the Fright Night Stamp Set was stamped in black over a blended ombré background of Timid Tiger, Lemon Lime, and Highland Heather, then die-cut with the coordinating Fright Night dies and layered over a frame cut from Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper, giving just a little sparkle. The “Happy Halloween” sentiment was stamped in black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock, cut with the banner die, and layered across the center. A few Shimmer Star Foam stickers finish the look.
