The December Paper Pumpkin kit, Watercolor in Bloom, features a beautiful soft palette of blues and greens, elegant florals, and die-cut layered details. I had such a great time creating with this kit, and while I could never pick a favorite color, this palette is definitely topping my list. The designs came together beautifully, making it one of those projects that felt relaxing and inspiring from start to finish.
While the subscription window for Watercolor in Bloom kit has closed, the refill is a wonderful way to keep the creativity going.
The refill makes nine cards, three each of three coordinating designs, and includes everything you need to craft with ease. Inside you’ll find printed card bases and coordinating printed envelopes, precut paper and vellum pieces, copper sequin embellishments, adhesive and step-by-step instructions. These botanically inspired cards come together effortlessly, and the finished cards have a sophisticated, beautifully layered look.
Paper Pumpkin refills are one of my favorite ways to get even more value from a subscription. They allow you to make the most of your existing stamp set and ink spot while enjoying stress-free crafting with perfectly coordinated supplies, no extra cutting or planning required.
Refills don’t include stamp sets, which is a very good reason to subscribe. It’s an easy way to grow a versatile stamp collection with designs you’ll actually use again and again.
If you sign up before January 10th, you’ll receive the January Paper Pumpkin “Special Delivery” kit, which is shaping up to be another stunner, and you can still add the Watercolor in Bloom refill to your order. Paper Pumpkin is such a fun and convenient way to keep fresh, high-quality crafting supplies delivered right to your door and enjoy creative time all year long.
Head over to the Christie Crafts YouTube channel for a video tutorial featuring the Watercolor in Bloom kit. I’ll walk you step by step through putting the kit cards together and also share a few of my own variation projects to give you even more ideas for stretching the kit and making it your own.
Below are my favorite variation projects created with the Watercolor in Bloom kit, including a gorgeous scrapbook page. Be sure to check out the Christie Crafts Greeting Card Gallery to see all of my variations and get even more inspiration!

Tutorial: To create this card, start with a white card base and add an embossed panel using the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder for texture and dimension. Fussy cut the bottom of an envelope from the Watercolor in Bloom kit and layer over a strip of Garden Green cardstock. Add small die-cut floral pieces with dimensionals. Add a sentiment banner in Cloud Cover cardstock and accent the flowers with copper sequins from the kit for a touch of shine.

Tutorial: Start with a white card base. Die-cut a round decorative window from the upper center of a Lost Lagoon cardstock panel and layer over the printed bottom of an envelope from the Watercolor in Bloom kit. Stamp a sentiment inside the window with Pretty Peacock ink and tuck in the die-cut floral elements, also from the kit. Finish with a few Holographic Resin Dots for a soft, polished touch.

Tutorial: This scrapbook page starts with a white base layered with Night of Navy cardstock to frame the design. The Watercolor in Bloom blue and green card bases create a soft ombré effect across the page. Photo mats are layered over a printed envelope from the kit. Die-cut florals, foliage, and the word “Lovely,” die-cut with the Sweet Blooms dies are tucks around the photo mats. A few cooper embellishments, also from the kit, tie everything together.
