Hey y’all! This month’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop theme is “Love,” just in time for February Valentines. And it got me thinking about how we share love notes these days. Anybody can send a heart emoji or a quick “Happy Valentine’s Day” text. But there’s something special about sitting down, picking out paper and ink, and making a Valentine by hand. A handmade card says, I slowed down. I thought about you. You matter to me. That little bit of effort turns into something meaningful that gets displayed on a desk, tucked into a purse, or saved in a keepsake box.
Make Valentines! Because the people you love deserve more than a text.
With that in mind, I grabbed the Love Notes Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! and started creating. When you’re trying to share something heartfelt without overcomplicating it, having the right paper makes all the difference.
This 6″ x 6″ DSP is a lovely mix of full-pattern sheets and cut-apart designs, which means you can keep things quick and simple or add just a little layering if you want a little extra. A quick trim and glue makes a beautiful card front, while the cut-apart pieces are perfect for sweet tags and accents. They’re also perfect for a classroom Valentine swap with friends!
The Love Notes pack includes 48 double-sided sheets (eight each of six designs) in classic Valentine-friendly colors, making it perfect for card making, scrapbooking, and other paper crafts. Scroll on to see the Valentine cards I created using this sweet paper
Love Notes Valentine Cards

Tutorial: This card comes together quickly with just a few simple steps. Start by cutting the watercolor pink background with the red heart directly from the Love Notes Designer Series Paper to card-front size and adhere it to a card base. Next, die cut the patterned heart from the DSP. I used the Endless Love Dies, but any heart-shaped die will work beautifully. The sentiment is also cut from the DSP using the Stylish Shapes Dies. Both are added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finish the card with a couple of small heart embellishments from the Loose Valentine’s Assortment for a sweet touch of texture and charm.

Tutorial: This card starts with a full card-front panel cut from the striped pattern from the Love Notes Designer Series Paper and adhered to a white card base. A narrow strip of coordinating heart-patterned DSP is added along the left edge. The layered focal point is created by die cutting two decorative circles using the Spotlight on Nature Dies and layering on the card front. The floral image is fussy cut directly from the DSP and added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is also cut from DSP, trimmed into a simple rectangle, and adhered with dimensionals to anchor the design. Finish the card with a few Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems scattered around the focal point for sparkle and texture.

Tutorial: This card begins with a white card base layered with a background panel embossed with the Hearts of Love 3D Embossing Folder for subtle texture. The sentiment and patterned panels cut from the Love Notes Designer Series Paper are stacked over the card front popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals The floral image from the Charming Day bundle is stamped in black, die cut, and layered across the bottom of the card, with additional die-cut leaves and small floral accents added for extra detail. Finish with a few Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems for a soft sparkle and a sweet Valentine’s touch.
