There’s just something about this time of year that makes my heart happy, and one of my favorite signs of spring has officially arrived. The hummingbirds are back, at least here in middle Tennessee, and I’ve already got my feeders out and ready for visitors. It brings me so much joy to watch those tiny little birds whizzing around the yard. They’re fast, they’re colorful, and just the most fascinating little creatures.
Seeing them always sparks a little creative inspiration for me and this year was no different. I found myself thinking about those vibrant hues and delicate details while creating with the March Paper Pumpkin Kit, Fluttering Garden.
The Fluttering Garden kit is one of those Paper Pumpkin boxes that feels special from the moment you open it. The hummingbird imagery is beautifully detailed, and the combination of wildflower-inspired florals with soft, airy tones allows those vibrant hummingbirds to truly shine. It’s the kind of kit that doesn’t just give you cards—it gives you inspiration.

Even though the subscription period for the March Fluttering Garden kit has passed, the refill is still available for current subscribers, and it’s absolutely worth grabbing.
The Fluttering Garden Paper Pumpkin Refill makes it easy to keep the creativity going. This refill creates nine beautiful cards (three each of three designs), all featuring those stunning hummingbird images and soft springtime colors. You’ll get textured card bases, coordinating printed envelopes, and precut pieces, including the beautiful hummingbird imagery, plus gorgeous iridescent foil gems that add just the right touch of sparkle.
Now, just a quick note, the refill doesn’t include the stamp set or the Stampin’ Spot that came in the original kit. But honestly, that’s an easy swap! You can pull in your favorite floral stamps from your stash and make these cards your own, which is half the fun anyway. It’s one of those kits where everything works together so effortlessly, just open the box and start creating.
These cards are perfect for Mother’s Day, spring birthdays, or just sending a sweet note to let someone know you’re thinking of them. And you know I always say, sending a card is like sending a hug through the mail.
One thing to keep in mind, the refill kits are available only to current Paper Pumpkin subscribers, so if you’re not already subscribed, this might just be your sign to jump in. It’s such a fun way to have a little creative moment delivered right to your door each month.
And speaking of what’s next…the May Paper Pumpkin kit Sparkling Celebrations is going to be a fun one! The subscription is open April 11–May 10. This kit is all about bold, festive cards, perfect for invitations, congratulations, and all those special occasions worth celebrating.

Stretching the Kit: Fluttering Gard Card Variations
One of my favorite things to do after creating each of the original card designs is to use the remaining materials to make a few of my own variations. Sometimes I come up with something new, and other times I CASE a design I’ve seen from another talented card maker. The Fluttering Garden kit makes this especially fun, the hummingbirds and wildflower-inspired elements are so versatile, and with a simple switch of sentiments, you can easily create cards for any occasion. Below are a few of the additional projects I created using this kit.

Fluttering Garden Memories
Of course, I used a few of the Fluttering Garden elements on a scrapbook layout too. Those hummingbirds and wildflower-inspired pieces pair beautifully with soft spring photos. I always love stretching my Paper Pumpkin supplies beyond cards, and this kit makes it so easy to create a light, layered look. For the background, I used the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper, which adds just the right touch of color and interest—and last I checked, it’s still available while supplies last.

Between the hummingbirds outside my window and the beautiful projects on my craft table, I’d say spring has officially arrived—and I am here for it!
If you’ve been crafting with the Fluttering Garden kit, I’d love to see what you’ve been making. And if you haven’t yet… well, there’s still time to let a little hummingbird inspiration flutter into your craft room.
