Hey y’all! Welcome to the July Inkin’ Crew Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Fun Folds, and while I don’t usually make fun fold cards, I always enjoy stretching my creativity and trying something new. I spotted a barn door card on Pinterest that inspired me to create my own version. The barn door design was the perfect fit for this month’s theme and paired beautifully with the adorable Highland Cow from the Wild Bunch Stamp Set.
The fun fold adds a little surprise for the recipient without being difficult to create. The barn doors make this card interactive, while still leaving plenty of room inside for a cheerful birthday greeting, complete with a little cornfield from the retired Tractor & Co Stamp Set.

How to Make This Barn Door Fun Fold Card
- Start with a piece of craft paper or Pecan Pie or Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 6″ x 9″. Score the long side at 2¼” from each end to create the two barn doors that fold toward the center. Burnish the score lines well with a bone folder for crisp folds.
- Cut a panel of Cherry Cobbler cardstock to 4¼” x 5¾” and emboss it using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder to create the realistic, weathered wood texture.
- For the barn door braces, cut two strips of Basic White cardstock ½” x 8½”. Emboss the strips with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and adhere them diagonally from corner to corner on the Cherry Cobbler panel to form an “X.” Trim the ends even with the panel. Cut the completed panel 2″ from each side to create the two barn door panels, then adhere one panel to each barn door flap. Add small rectangles of Basic Black cardstock where the braces meet to create simple barn door handles.
- To decorate the front, I used the adorable Highland Cow from the Wild Bunch Stamp Set, coloring him with Pecan Pie, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Golden Glow Stampin’ Blends, then added just a tiny touch of Real Red to his tongue for a little extra personality.
- Finish the inside with a 4¼” x 5¾” Basic White panel, stamped with a birthday greeting and another Highland Cow and corn stalks. When the recipient opens the barn doors, they’re greeted with the cheerful birthday message and a sweet little farm scene waiting inside.
- The hay bale, chicken, and corn stalks from the retired Tractor & Co. Stamp Set create the perfect farm setting for the Highland Cow and bring the entire barn scene to life.

The Wild Bunch Stamp Set was Stampin’ Up!’s June Product of the Month, and after creating this card, I can certainly see why it was so popular—it sold out in no time! If you were lucky enough to add it to your collection, I hope you’ll give this fun barn door card a try.
One of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up!’s Product of the Month program is that there’s always something new to discover. Each month, an exclusive product can be added to a qualifying $75 order for just $5, while supplies last. Since these exclusive products often sell out quickly, you’ll want to take a look at July’s offering before it’s gone.
July’s exclusive Product of the Month is the beautiful Begonia Belle Stamp Set. This elegant Two-Step Stampin’ set features graceful begonia blooms that can be layered to create gorgeous depth and dimension or stamped individually for a softer look. A coordinating flower bud, leafy accents, and heartfelt sentiments make it perfect for thank-you cards, birthdays, thinking-of-you cards, and other heartfelt occasions. Like every Product of the Month, Begonia Belle is available only while supplies last, so be sure to add it to your next qualifying order before it sells out.
I hope this project inspires you to look at your stamps in new ways and create a fun fold of your own! Be sure to continue along the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop and visit the other talented creators sharing their Fun Fold inspiration.
