There’s something about a peaceful winter scene that I just love—evergreen trees, softly falling snow, and a graceful deer tucked into the woods. Add a little metallic shine, and suddenly that quiet winter scene becomes something extra special!
This week, I’m creating with the Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System (170009) and the beautiful Graceful Evergreen Deer Bundle (170567). This bundle brings together that rustic winter look I love with just the right amount of elegant foil—and I think the two were made for each other.
If you haven’t tried the Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System (170009) yet, it works with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653) to transfer metallic foil designs onto your cardstock using specially designed hot foil dies.
The Graceful Evergreen Deer Bundle (170567) includes the Graceful Evergreen Deer Photopolymer Stamp Set (170565) and Graceful Evergreen Deer Hot Foil Dies (170566). The stamp set gives you those beautiful winter details—evergreen trees, snowfall, and stars—while the hot foil dies let you bring the deer to life with gorgeous metallic shine. And don’t forget, the bundle saves you 10% compared to buying the coordinating products separately!
Graceful Evergreen Deer Card Ideas
For my cards, I wanted the deer to be the star, so I kept the overall designs fairly simple and let those beautiful winter images and metallic details do the work. The evergreen trees create the perfect backdrop for the deer, while the snowfall helps build that quiet winter scene. For a little extra texture and interest, I used rustic Designer Series Paper as the background on one card and an embossed background on the other. I added Christmas sentiments from my stash and finished both cards with the gorgeous Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes (168316) for just a little extra sparkle. Then you tilt the cards and catch that beautiful metallic shine from the foiled deer—that’s the detail that really makes them feel extra special!

I stepped things up a bit with this next one. Inspired by a card from Yvonne Spikmans, I added a few more bells and whistles while still letting those gorgeous copper-foiled deer shine! I embossed the background with a pine embossing folder, then used the same rustic DSP, die-cut into an oval, to create the backdrop for the deer. I tucked in a few pine sprigs from my stash and added those adorable Adhesive-Backed Christmas Berries (168549) for a festive finishing touch. The “’Tis the Season” sentiment from the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Dies (170592) brings in one more beautiful bit of foiled shine and ties everything together.

I also love that this bundle can go beyond Christmas. Depending on the sentiment and colors you choose, I could easily see the Graceful Evergreen Deer Bundle (170567) working for winter birthdays, thank-you cards, masculine cards, or simply a card to let someone know you’re thinking about them.
And if you’re new to hot foiling, don’t be intimidated by it! There is a little bit of a learning curve, but once you see that first beautiful foiled image come off the plate, you’ll understand why I’ve been raving about this system so much.
