One of my favorite things about paper crafting is that it lets us slow down, relax, and simply enjoy being creative. And honestly…who says coloring is just for kids?
I get ridiculously excited every time Stampin’ Up! releases a gorgeous black-and-white Designer Series Paper because I know all the creative possibilities waiting inside. The new Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper is exactly that kind of collection! The hand-drawn floral images are stunning on their own, but they truly come to life when you add your own creative touch.
For today’s projects, I experimented with several different coloring techniques, and I loved how each one created a completely different look, even though they all started with the very same paper. Whether you enjoy quick coloring with Blends Markers or love taking your time with watercolor techniques, this paper is the perfect creative playground.
One of the things I appreciate most about this paper is its versatility. You can create soft, elegant floral cards with subtle coloring or bold, vibrant designs that completely transform the artwork. No two projects ever have to look alike, making this paper an incredible value for card makers and scrapbookers alike.
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by stamping or coloring detailed images, this paper is a wonderful place to start. The artwork is already beautifully illustrated; you simply get to add your own personality.
Artisan Sketched Garden Cards
For today’s card collection, I wanted to showcase how you can achieve different looks from the same Designer Series Paper using different coloring techniques. Each card has its own unique personality, some are soft and elegant, while others are bright, cheerful, and full of vibrant color. It’s amazing how changing the colors, or even the intensity of your shading, can make the exact same floral image feel completely different. If you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon at your craft table, grab your favorite coloring supplies and let the Artisan Sketched Garden DSP do the hard work for you.

Artisan Sketched Garden Scrapbooking
Of course, I couldn’t stop with just cards! I also created a scrapbook layout featuring the Artisan Sketched Garden DSP. The beautifully colored Crisp Cantaloupe florals add pops of interest to the page while still leaving plenty of room for your favorite photos and/or journaling. This paper isn’t limited to greeting cards, it’s equally beautiful for scrapbook pages, home décor, gift packaging, journals, and so many other paper crafting projects.
Tip: To give the sentiment a custom look, I heat embossed on black cardstock with Basic Wow! Embossing Powder and then carefully went over the words “simple things” with a Crisp Cantaloupe Stampin’ Blend. It’s an easy technique that adds a soft pop of color while keeping the bold contrast of the embossed sentiment.
